Homemaker Service includes assistance with: shopping; menu planning; meal preparation; laundry; light housekeeping including but not limited to vacuuming, dusting, dry mopping, dish washing, cleaning the kitchen and bathroom, and changing beds; and training in home management.



40 hours of training is required within the first 6 months of employment, at least 3 of which must be given as orientation before placement. The subjects in the training and orientation follow the Council’s Training Course outline.


6 hours for full-time employees, pro-rated for part-time employees is required. One-half of the hours may be one-to-one supervision of personal care.


In-home supervision not less than once each quarter by a qualified supervisor in a representative sample of a homemaker’s clients.
